It is not obligatory to send old furniture to dump at all. Having made some efforts, it can be updated that served longer. To present the second life to chairs and dressers, cabinets and racks, often they need just to be painted anew.
Instruction
1. First of all choose suitable paint just for decoration. Well enamel and varnish paints will be suitable for the similar purposes, it is possible to use oil, but the best option – acrylic. It does not smell if has too thickened, then easily gets divorced water and also allows mixing of different colors for receiving necessary shade. But the most important advantage – acrylic can be washed away quickly from surface if the result of painting for some reason did not suit you.
2. When the type of paint and right color are chosen, begin to prepare furniture for painting. For this purpose first of all remove all old paint and other layers which close tree – varnish, wax, fat, pollution, etc. Take large abrasive paper and walk on all surface of furniture, cleaning off all unnecessary in the direction along wood fibers. Be not overzealous, otherwise you can damage furniture. When you process everything, sweep away dust brush and finish business, having worked as small abrasive paper now. Again brush away furniture with brush.
3. If you nevertheless did not manage to get rid thus up to the end of the remains of old oil paint, make special structure for its removal. Take 1 part of turpentine and 2 parts of 10% ammonia, well mix. Apply on rag and clean off paint from furniture. Work in rubber gloves because mix very burning. It is possible even to reel up rag on stick and to wipe furniture by means of this stick.
4. When the surface dries up, apply on it drying oil. After drying cover furniture with acrylic primer according to the instruction on bank. Use the roller that the layer was thin. When finish, give to means to dry.
5. Now it is possible to start directly coloring. But before it slightly polish surface silicon paper, wipe with dry rag but only then you apply paint. When the first layer dries, from above put the second.
