As soon as there comes the summer, the problem of the flying insects appears. And if you still have no protection against them, it is a high time to think of making mosquito grid. Independently production of good removable grid will cost to you not much more cheaper, than the finished product bought in shop.
- — tape measure;
- — aluminum shape with groove for rubber cord;
- — cross-piece with two grooves;
- — latches for fastening (T-terminal);
- — handles;
- — hooks;
- — grid (fibreglass).
1. Make measurement of window, just open window and measure by means of tape measure stvorochny part of frame from within. Consider that the mosquito grid needs to be made at least 30 mm more in height and on 40 mm in width that it has appeared with an overlap. For example, for window with sizes of 1200х400 mm make grid dimensions of 1230х440 mm.
2. Take aluminum shapes and cut off preparations of the necessary length. Pay attention to perpendicularity of cuts, measure all faces by means of the square, otherwise the ready grid to turn out warped. To calculate length of each element, subtract from total length (or width) 60 mm. Do impost (crossbeam) 55 mm shorter than the general width.
3. Take angular connectors and by means of the hammer or mall collect rectangular frame. You look behind that the groove for rubber cord on rails coincided with groove of corners.
4. Hammer into latch impost faces for fastening (T-terminal) and attach it to frame in the middle. Pay attention to orientation of T-terminals, as a result of groove under cord have to coincide with grooves on frame.
5. Cut out from grid two pieces on the lower and top half, on each party provide stock not less than 4 cm. Pull grid on frame, pressing it into groove cord. Ask the assistant to pull grid and to watch that it was not displaced. Cut off excess grid knife, having left small allowances to the brim of frame on each side (in case the frame will cave in and will not close aperture densely).
6. Insert handles on the center that the self-made mosquito grid could be established and removed from window easily. Consider that handles have to be directed in frame.
7. Establish fastening hooks from outer side of window casement to fix grid. At first fasten self-tapping screws the lower fastenings with the lower shelves, then top – so that they held design only tips of long shelves (3-4 mm).
