With development of space technologies the increasing popularity is gained by a question of development of new planets. The closest to Earth, apart from the satellite – the Moon, Mars is. For what time it is possible to reach it from the planet Earth?
It is known that Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and is called in honor of the Roman god of war. All surface of Mars is painted in brown-red color that gives it even more mysteriousness. The atmosphere on the planet quite rarefied also consists for 95% of carbon dioxide. There is no exact proof of existence of life on Mars yet, but this question very strongly concerns all inhabitants of Earth.
The person dreams to fly several decades to Mars, and in 2013 even the special program "Mars One" which began selection from 1000 astronauts for the first flight to Mars was started. It is expected that in 2025 the first group consisting of 4 people will make this flight. Creators of this project claim that astronauts will appear on Mars in only 7-8 months after start from the Earth's surface.
But this flight has also a reverse side. It is unknown whether the crew will return back and what to expect from this restless planet with its numerous sandstorms.
The distance between Mars and Earth constantly changes. It happens because of the difference of orbits on which planets move around the Sun. Between them it is possible to observe the minimum distance each 16–17 years. At this moment it makes about 55 million km. Modern spacecrafts can gather speed to 64,000 km/h. It will allow to overcome the minimum distance to Mars in only 36 days. But every day of the planet will disperse from each other and it will be possible to return back for such short term only in 16 years.
Of course, the mankind does not stand still and constantly develops. The fastest speed known to people is the speed of light which is about 300000 km/s. If to develop the aircraft moving with such speed to Mars it will be possible to reach for only three with small minutes. Therefore it is necessary to develop the space industry and to move further.
