Before arrival of spring it is important to think of what cultures will grow on your site in advance. Scheduling – the first step by excellent harvest.
It is the best of all to begin planning of future landings with question of what cultures grew at you last year what grades and also in what place were located landings? We advise for this purpose to create the annual country diary and to write down there all necessary information.
It is better for the beginning summer residents to put several beds with the least whimsical cultures – garden radish, onions, parsley, potatoes, carrots and squash. Slightly more troublesome the situation with cucumbers, cabbage and tomatoes is.
The sandy soil is not too fertile, however on it potatoes, carrots, beet and strawberry not bad grow.
Soils rich with organic chemistry yield good harvest of squash, cucumbers, cabbage.
Rule of crop rotation
For receiving rich harvest important not only quality of the soil and care for landings, but also observance of crop rotation. It is impossible to put culture on the same place from year to year. If to neglect this rule, the soil becomes subject to various diseases, in it wreckers collect. She grows poor as from year to year the same substances are extracted from it.
One of types of crop rotation – alternation of vegetables on families. Two seasons in a row on bed should not grow "relatives", for example, eggplants after tomatoes (family of nightshade family) or garden radish after cabbage (family of cruciferae family).
Some gardeners alternate "vershoks" and "backs". Rhizocarpous and tuberous put after cultures which grow up for the sake of elevated part and vice versa.
Beds
After you were defined that you want to put, it is possible to start sketch of the plan of landings.
The most thermophilic cultures – tomatoes, paprika, cucumbers, melons, watermelons – land in greenhouses and hotbeds. The greenhouse is usually located near the house that it was more convenient to lay communications. The place has to be sublime, otherwise it is necessary to provide the greenhouse with the high base and drainage ditches. Optimum location of the greenhouse – from the North on the South.
Under beds take away the southern, unshaded part of the earth. They can be different form and the sizes. Classical – rectangular, extended, as well as greenhouses. Width of such beds usually does not exceed 100 cm. Width of paths – 30-40 cm. It is possible to make also narrower beds – to 45-50 cm. Large cultures (cabbage, beet, radish) on them land in one row.
